How can you keep your baby cockatiel pet bird from squawking?

It squawks whenever it sees me… It is well taken care of, what can possibly be wrong?

I am not a bird expert but I have heard that birds bond to one person. It is possible that he\she sees you as a parental figure and is just wanting more attention.

Awww!!! Cute! Baby birds are SOO adorable! I have heard that baby birds squawk like puppies bark and jump and they eventually grow out of it. Also birds squawk to tell you they are happy to see you. And theres always putting a blanket over the cage. Have fun with your baby bird!

Your baby might be bored. Do you have toys in the cage? If you don’t you need to put a few interesting bird toys in there so he can keep himself entertained. Also get him out of the cage to play for at LEAST 1 hour a day. If you can’t do this then your bird will not be happy. Oh and DON’T shake a noisy can at the bird it’s not his fault he’s locked in a cage and wants company. Try whistling when he squawks and put the radio on usually helps too. Hope you enjoy your new baby.

The reason wy it is doing that is because it sees you as it’s parent. There will be a time when it gets bigger it will stop making the baby noise.

cockatiels are highly social animals, and live in a world where communication is very important. They squawk (or whistle) to maintain a connection with their flock mates, to get attention, and often cockatiels see their human owners as just another member of their flock, and in some cases even a lover. As such they will try to communicate with you, just as they would another cockatiel. They will probably squawk or whistle to acknowledge your presence and express their happiness that you are there, and squawk or whistle when you leave because they are distressed, and want you to return to the flock (I’m pretty sure it’s an instinct due to how dangerous it would be for an animal to go off on its own in the wild). Also babies will sometimes make noise as a way of letting their mother know they are hungry. Nothing is wrong with your bird, it is perfectly normal, and healthy for a cockatiel to be very talkative.

He is bonding with you and needs your attention. They do this begging type behavior for some time and then settle down as they move into adulthood around 6 months of age.

Nothing is wrong with your bird. It just loves you and wants to be with you. Expecting a bird to not squack is like expecting a dog to not wag its tail.
There are many good websites on what to do to be a good bird owner. Please take a look. When you got your bird you got a great friend. Your little guy can live up to 35 years, so develop a great relationship with him!
